Number 2 is a big one for me. I make goals for the year in regards to my writing, but I remind myself that they aren't set in stone and I'm better off keeping them flexible.

Definitely! Life happens! And often when you take the pressure off, you get better results, too
Yes to goals reached by specific actions... you won't walk a mile without doing some steps - and I love the phrase 'kind actions'.
Beating yourself up about something is truly the most unhelpful way to acheive anything (in my books! I'm sure there are plenty who feel different!)
